Over the North Sea... Hurricane fighters destroy 4 German bombers attacking a convoy off the coast of Suffolk.

Over Britain... German aircraft raid Aberdeen (causing 60 casualties) and Cardiff.

In Moscow... Kuusinen, former head of the Soviet sponsored Terijoki government (originally intended to replace the Finnish government in Helsinki), is appointed President of the Karelo-Finnish Soviet Republic, in territory acquired from Finland in the treaty of March 13.
