In Vichy France... Marshal Petain's government breaks off diplomatic relations with Britain because of the action taken against the French navy, and orders an unsuccessful retaliatory torpedo bomber raid on the British naval base at Gibraltar.

In Romania... Romania joins the Axis alliance of Italy and Germany.

TRIVIA
The brontosaurus never existed. The skeleton originally called the brontosaurus was in fact a combination of two dinosaurs found in close proximity. There was no such dinosaur. The skeleton concerned was mainly an Apatosaurus.
