Over Britain... The Germans send 70 planes to raid dock targets in South Wales. In the British reckoning this is the first day of the battle of Britain.

Over the English Channel... There are more air battles in which there are losses on both sides.

TRIVIA
The popular English vegetable the Swede is a biological cross between a cabbage and a turnip. Consequently, the leaves as well as the root is edible. Its proper name is the RUTABAGA. The term Swede was originally slang, shortened from "Swedish Turnip"
